Professional Experiences: I began my teacher pre-service in Los Angeles Unified School District, where I student taught first and fifth grades, as well as third grade GATE. As a product of Catholic schools (K-12), I knew that I wanted to contribute to Catholic education and was lead to Our Lady of Fatima. From 2004-2008, I was known as “Ms. D.” on the OLF campus. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching second grade and moderating the Student Council. From 2008-2009, I lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota and spent the year proofreading legal documents and substitute teaching at two Catholic schools. I taught Kindergarten through eighth grade at the largest inner city Catholic school in Minnesota.  The second school offered me a very rewarding experience, one that allowed me to interact primarily with junior high students, which is where I was praying my path as a teacher would take me. In 2009, I returned to Our Lady of Fatima to teach junior high language arts and religion.

About my family: In August 2008, I was married at Our Lady of Fatima Church to Dr. Ryan Kelly. Ryan works at the City of Hope.  I have an Italian Catholic family and I married into a large Irish Catholic family. I have a wonderful and supportive family, consisting of my parents and younger brother, Ryan’s parents, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, one niece, and one Goddaughter (former OLF teacher Jenny Elloy’s first daughter, Gracie).
